My friend Justin asked me to complete a pet portrait of their family dog Kali, and his daughter Aspen. This portrait was done in memoriam of Kali who passed away on February 26th, 2024, and will be a surprise Christmas gift for Aspen. Kali was a big part of their family, as well as Aspens former protector, and will be missed dearly.
This is a portrait of a Jack Russel named Harley, and her Momma, Shannon. Harley passed away a few months after the completion of this portrait, and it was done in gratitude to Shannon, who has allowed me to draw her in a couple of my earlier portraits to help build my portfolio.
With a huge heart, Shannon is heavily involved with a pet rescue outfit in Denver, CO named Lola's Rescue. It's been an honor to capture someone who's been so incredibly instrumental in her tireless efforts to find fosters and forever homes for countless dogs.
Feel free to reach out to Lola's Rescue if you're looking for a pup, or if you simply would like to make a donation to their cause.

This is the Skye story, written by Skye's Momma, Caroline.
Skye was born April 11, 2020. It was during the mask mandate in California. I had been searching for a dog for a few months but with the virus it was really difficult. We found an ad in the paper about a Border Collie puppy in Downey, Ca. Steve and I drove down there to see her. We had to meet the breeders out on the street. Skye was in a little brown box on the curb. I picked her up and was in love at first site. They were happy because she was very nervous and scared of most people. We bonded right away. During lock downs and days of staying in doors I started with lots of training with Skye. She was so easy to potty train. Slept during the night. I took her sheep herding when she turned 5 months. She was a natural. It was so fun.
We moved to Tennessee when she was 5 months. We continued training individually and in groups. Skye is so sweet and so smart. Steve and I are so in love with Skye and both say we have loved all our dogs, but something special about her. Skye has many other names….aka Little Miss, Rocket, Dookie Shoes, Stretchy The Stripper 🤣😂 Skye is my best friend. Love her so much.
